MIND FLIES

PARANORMAL BRAIN BUZZ FOR WRITERS, READERS, AND ODDSOX

SOUL ABDUCTION

To impart clarity, let us say that for this discussion, spirit and soul are synonymous.  Some believe that the soul is part of the personality, the ego-emotional body, and that the spirit is that which is eternal and unchanging, connected divinely to the Creator and ultimately without flaw.  Or vice-versa.

But, the term “soul abduction,” is common when people of psychic talent are discussing the phenomenon of the connection to Creator being severed, or inaccessible.  Many theories abound as to why this happens:  severe depression or denial; mental illness; full or partial possession by demons, rogue entities, and those once-human, now crossed-over, who find themselves craving the in-body experiences they once enjoyed.  In the latter case, many times the combatant or mischief-maker had chemical or emotional dependencies in their human lives, and desire those same fleshly feelings again.  The great psychic, Edward Cayce, discussed this often.

Who can say how many persons confined in institutions, shunned, or disenfranchised by their own cultures are possessed, or cut off from their own spirits and their divine connection to the Creator?  We cannot know the brain at this point in our evolution, any better than we know the spirit, or the concept of how we came to be here, doing this and being this.  Logic aside, and suspension-of-belief firmly entrenched, let’s explore some possibilities.

“I have seen spirits compressed until they are so small they would fit inside a thimble,” wrote a Victorian woman in her journal, disavowing the “finishing school” agenda she was being subjected to.

“The accused murderer’s eyes were empty.”  “There was nothing there.”  “I felt no prescence or spirit behind the doorways of her/his eyes.”

In Lyall Watson’s very disturbing and well-researched book, Dark Nature*, the biologist and naturalist, who has studied an astonishing number of cultures, human, and animal, says:  “Our societies have encoded such instincts in rules and laws, describing and defining what works and what does not, what is moral and immoral, good and evil.  But the most effective restraints remain those which are built into us and come floating to the surface as required, quenching the flames of social fire.” (p127)  “Being good and being bad are simply part of being human.  We are products of the past and none of our direct ancestors died childless.  Every one of them left us something to remember them by, and the sum total of this inheritance is what drives us.” (p126)  (Also see the page Beliefs and Behavior.)

Nature or nurture?  The long debate makes no difference in a case of soul abduction.  Personal behaviors can contribute to vulnerability, making holes in the aura, a living being’s energy field, but there are countless cases where little fault is found in the person being affected by non-native, non-supportive, or destructive energies.

Quite often, the emotions are the first indication that a person is under attack, being barred from their divine guidance.  Instances of loss, trauma, grief, and horror so imbalance our equalizers, we become vulnerable to a host of things.  With our immune systems down or wounded, microbes, viruses, bacteria, and mutations of body and spirit can more easily occur.  Healthy habits fall away during these times, replaced by coping mechanisms that ultimately harm rather than help.  The further down a person spirals, the less able they are to help themselves.

Prayer lifts this condition–even when, and sometimes, especially when–it’s performed by a person outside the one suffering.  The Catholic Church still officially sanctions exorcism, with Latin rites and specific training given to the select few.  Such drastic measures may not be necessary, but if you suspect that yourself, a loved one, a friend, family member, or co-worker might be afflicted by soul abduction (and yes, especially those whom you know already seek to do you harm), take action.

It’s not my intention in these short paragraphs to offer specifics:  identification, confirmation; treatment and cleansing.  Such measures contain drawn out instructions, including close and consistent observation.

We all want to feel close to our Creator, whatever our belief system.  The drive to exist, to love and be loved, have identity and purpose, to live without fear, in comfort and security, is the wish of us all.  To help you understand soul abduction, its healing, exorcisms, and future protections, I will soon posts links to those materials which I feel are reputable and helpful.  AND YES, there is a difference between soul abduction and outright, full-on possession (see Possession).

Blessed be.  Remember . . . no power in all of the worlds is greater than unconditional love (and according to financial wizards:  compound interest).

I end this for now on a note of levity, just in case your skin has started crawling away from the muscle.  See neither good nor bad in these explanations–but also invoke for yourself and all others, the universal law:  First, do no harm.  Under that banner, you have every right to evict a backpacker, cling-on, or puppet-master.  You are the captain of your soul–and the owner of your body (unless you’ve made a spiritual bargain to give your body over to a walk-inor to enter as a walk-in–or agree to body-sharing with conscious intent–please see those pages).

And if you need help, ask.  Ask the Creator.  Ask your angels.  Ask for an exorcist–and please, check their credentials.
